Arkansas's capitol building, in Little Rock; this view is from the west lawn. It was built between 1899 and 1915 at a cost of $ 2.5 million, on the site of the old state penitentiary. The building was constructed with limestone quarried from Batesville, Arkansas and Bedford, Indiana. It has been filmed for several movies because of its resemblance to the United States Capitol building in Washington, D.C.
