This is the Old Point Loma Lighthouse at the Cabrillo National Monument in San Diego, CA (and here's another view). This 40 foot tower and keeper's house was built in 1855 over the cliffs at Point Loma, 422 feet above sea level. Unfortunately, the light was frequently enshrouded in fog and of little use to mariners, so it was replaced 36 years later by the New Point Loma Lighthouse, a skeletal tower built near sea level.
