St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York City; the 51-story Olympic Tower can be seen on the left side of this picture. Construction on the cathedral began in 1858, and was completed in May, 1879. The cathedral is the largest gothic-style Catholic Cathedral in the United States. The exterior width of the building is 274 feet, and the spires rise 330 feet from street level.
