6th Street in downtown Austin, Texas is probably the best known street in the entire state. Several bars, clubs, and music venues are located on 6th Street, making it the heart of Austin's entertainment district. Live music of every genre is offered at one time or another during the week, including jazz, blues, country, rock, and hip-hop. Musical legends from Austin include the late Stevie Ray Vaughan and Willie Nelson.

Formerly known as Pecan Street, Sixth Street is located between Congress Avenue and Interstate 35 in Austin, and is lined with several historical houses and commercial buildings dating from the late 1800's and early 1900's. In addition to the well-known clubs and music venues, the old buildings on 6th Street also house tattoo parlors, art galleries, casual cafes, upscale restaurants, and the historic Driskill Hotel.
