Saint Anthony Statue

More Photos

This is a statue of St. Anthony of Padua, Portugal (1195 - 1231), adorning the banks of the Riverwalk in San Antonio, Texas. San Antonio was named after St. Anthony, and Portugal donated the statue in honor of the 250th anniversary of the naming of the city.

St. Anthony is depicted holding the Christ Child, who has his arms spread out like a cross and is standing on the Bible.
